Many of the great commentators have explainedthat the above verse aims at the TEMPORARY MARRIAGE.

In TABARY'S COMMENTARY book it is writtenthat this verse indicates the temporary marriage andthat many of the prophets's companions have testifiedthat.

In many famous tradition books such as SAHIHBOKHARI SAHIH MOSLIM and MASNADAHMAD, there are traditions about the tem porar ymarriage declaring it a lawful religious act which usedto be done in the life time of the prophet. There arealso some narration in these books that deny andreject it.

Some scholars believe that during the life time ofthe prophet it wes done, but after the prophet it wasforbidden by OMAR the second KHALIF.

In the famous book THE SONAN OF BEIHAGHIvol. 7 P. 602 it is written that OMAR the secondkhalif said,
